Abstract

In the center of the analysis stands the idea that communist ideology has certain characteristics that make possible its instrumentalisation within the framework of existing strategies for the emancipation of peripheral (Eastern) societies in relation to the core (Western modernity). The situation of these communities within their asymmetric interactions with the Western modern core and characteristics of these societies related to their peripheral position, create a certain "predisposition" for one particular perception of the communist ideology.
