Abstract

Life in the institution is a measure of child protection and both a cause the "identity crisis" of child without parental care in Bulgaria. Research has demonstrated that institutional care has detrimental impact on all aspects of child development and it's a mechanism of social exclusion. In 2009 years 7276 children in Bulgaria were placed in institutional care. It can to say that these institutions are targeted to themselves, not the needs of children.

This report is based on biographical method, participation with observation, content analysis of newspapers and survey. It presents a general view on life of child without parental care.

The Johari Window is a conceptual framework that has been used to explain the main mechanisms for the formation of deviant identities of children from social institutions.
